Exercise Dose and Fitness

How much exercise should I do?  I get this question a lot.  Higher fitness has been consistently linked to better health and a lower risk of premature death from all causes - including heart disease and some cancers.  A study in the May 16, 2007 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association looked at the effect of different "doses" of exercise on fitness levels.

This week on Fitness Rocks I interview Dr. Timothy Church, the lead author on the JAMA paper, about what he found about the relationship between amount of exercise and fitness levels.
